Bonelli Plant Hire Helping Upcycle History
Updated: Sep 8
One of our recent projects has been up at Jimna. An old timber bridge has to be removed and a new concrete culvert one put in. I have been informed that the old timber culvert itself is approximately 120 years old. What a testament to traditional building skills. The old timber was carefully dug out by our operators' piece by piece and removed. There were some very solid timbers and we are told they are destined to be upcycled into historic high-end furniture pieces. The video below is a walk-through of the project showing the careful removal of the timbers and the placement of three, nine-tonne culvert bases before the six-tonne culverts are lowered into place. The site was then backfilled and compacted.
